Commissioned directly by Fortnum & Mason as part of their wider ‘Set Summer Free’ campaign — a creative project that saw eight photographers from across the UK take Fortnum’s iconic hampers out on a local summer adventure, each capturing their own regional interpretation of the campaign theme.
David’s chapter took four models out into the Oxfordshire countryside — spending a day on the banks of the Thames, picnicking, swimming in the river, and exploring the surrounding landscape.
The result is a set of images that feel genuinely free, warm, and quintessentially English summer — exactly the kind of authentic, unforced lifestyle imagery that a campaign built around liberation and seasonal joy demands.
Being selected as one of eight photographers commissioned nationally for a Fortnum & Mason campaign is a significant credential — reflecting both the quality of David’s lifestyle photography and his ability to interpret and deliver on a broad creative theme with minimal direction.

“David’s photography and moving images exceeded our brief. He was a pleasure to work with, going above and beyond to ensure the shoot was a great success — from the initial mood board to the location, choice of models and styling, his images tapped into our desire to reach a new audience whilst ensuring authenticity. I highly recommend David and we look forward to working with him on other projects in the near future.”Ange Loftus, Marketing Manager — Fortnum & Mason
